Your permit is issued for a specific sector, not the park generally, so the trailhead you’re assigned — in this case Nkuringo — determines which lodge cluster you should book, how early you need to arrive at headquarters, and roughly how long the trek itself tends to run. Nkuringo is Bwindi’s most remote trailhead, on a ridge with Virunga volcano views on a clear day, and the terrain from this trailhead is often steeper than the other three sectors.
