12-Day Uganda Gorilla Safari: The Complete Itinerary

Published August 26, 2026 · By · 2 min read

Twelve days covers the classic Uganda circuit with genuine breathing room — two nights in most parks rather than the tightly-paced one-night stays a 7 or 8-day trip requires.

Trip Highlights

Unhurried Pacing

Two full days in each major park rather than a single rushed activity day.

The Complete Big Four

Gorillas, chimpanzees, Big Five game viewing, and the Nile, all covered properly.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Days 1-3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Arrival, the core gorilla trek, and a spare day for a nature walk or Batwa cultural visit rather than rushing straight out.

Meals: Full board daily

Accommodation: A lodge or tented camp in Queen Elizabeth

Days 7-8: Kibale Forest National Park

Chimpanzee tracking, a day at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, and a spare morning for a second forest walk.
