How the Pace Compares to Our 7-Day Version
The core difference is how the Queen Elizabeth stop is handled — this itinerary combines the boat cruise with the transfer day to Kibale rather than giving game viewing its own separate full day. Everything else — the gorilla trek, the chimpanzee tracking, all three parks — stays identical between the two versions.
Practical Preparation
Sturdy hiking boots for the gorilla trek, comfortable layered clothing for game drives and the boat cruise, and a reasonable baseline fitness level given the itinerary’s brisker pace compared to our longer options.
Will I still get a proper game drive experience?
Yes — the boat cruise and afternoon drive together still deliver strong wildlife viewing, just compressed into one day rather than a day and a half.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this differ from the 7-Day version?
Same three parks, but the Queen Elizabeth stop is compressed to a single night with the boat cruise on departure morning rather than a full separate game-drive day.
Is this itinerary too rushed?
It’s brisker than our 7-day version but still comfortable — nothing is dropped, the transfer days are simply used more efficiently.
