Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lake Bunyonyi worth a full day, or just a stopover? It’s genuinely worth the overnight — the lake is free of bilharzia and hippos, so swimming and canoeing are both possible, which is rare for East African lakes.
Is this itinerary less strenuous than back-to-back gorilla treks?Yes, the Bunyonyi night breaks up the physical demands of trekking with a genuinely restful day between the two.
