The standard gorilla trekking permit currently costs $700 for foreign non-residents and $600 for foreign residents. The gorilla habituation permit is priced at $1,500 for a four-hour experience.

Rushaga can be reached by road from Kampala or Entebbe, with the journey taking roughly 8–10 hours. For travelers coming from Rwanda, the drive from Kigali through Cyanika or Katuna border posts shortens the trip to about four or five hours. Those preferring to fly can use the daily domestic flights to Kisoro Airstrip, which is just a short drive away from Rushaga.
